The Amazing Spiderman 2

The Amazing Spiderman 2, Film Review, Movie Review, The Flawed Guru Being on holiday means many things, but for me it still means looking for the nearest cinema to check out what’s on. But when you’re in a smaller town like Taupo, you’re never sure if they will even have one. So when I was there for the long weekend recently, I quickly looked up to see if they had one, and they did! So on our first night there, after eating a good meal, we hit up their old school feeling and looking cinema.

The Amazing Spiderman 2 was not really a film I was excited to see, as the first one was a bit of a letdown, and with the main Marvel universe kicking so much ass these days, the other companies who own characters just don’t interest me as much, and that includes Fox which has the X-Men, my favourite comic series ever. But Sony did do a good job with the first 2 Spiderman films, though the 3rd was easily the worst, but at least the 4th was better than that.

The first 30 minutes had so many things that just felt forced and didn’t work for me, and I was worried the whole film was going to continue that way. But as it progressed, I felt it did some really interesting things, and by the end I was pretty damn riveted, especially with the very brave choice they made with one particular character.

Though it did feel too long, and a lot of the CG just felt like I was watching an animated cartoon, but that’s ok at the end of the day, because as long as I was entertained, then it’s all good. The continuation of the story and the universe, by hinting at the Sinister 6 for the next film was pretty cool, and as ever ill look forward to seeing the next one, while at the same time thinking this one will quickly be forget like the last two.

8 out of 10 from me!!!
