Best and Worst Films – 2014

12 Years A Slave, The Flawed Guru, Best Film List, 2014 For the first time in a while, film reviews took a bit of a back seat in my life in 2013. I did manage to bring that back a bit this year just gone, but I still hope to increase that even more in this new year of 2015.

Where I only saw 29 films in 2013, in 2014 that bumped up to 53 brand new ones, and mixed between the cinema, DVD, and Blu-ray, but luckily the number seen at the cinemas still far outweighs the home watching. Not that I don’t love watching films at home, but I tend to like keeping that to older films I’ve already seen, and ones I haven’t.

2014 was another great year for films, and for the third year straight, it produced at least one film that touched me enough to give it the rare 10 out of 10 score. Not only that, the film that got that 10 out of 10, and tops this list, got such a reaction out of me that I blubbered away in the cinema bathrooms once the film was finished!
