Big Hero 6

Big Hero 6, The Flawed Guru, Film, Movie, ReviewBig Hero 6 was billed as the first Disney film to be made using the Marvel IP they now have a hold of, so I was surprised to not see the Marvel logo at the beginning. Though that thought didn’t really stay with me all that long as I was still thinking about an awesome short film that played before the feature called, Feast, which I would have happily seen a full length film based around.

Though I’m not familiar with the source material of Big Hero 6, it was set in a different universe than the Marvel one, so I knew right off the bat a lot of liberties would be taken, but as I didn’t know what came before meant I didn’t really care. So with a pretty fresh slate, I settled in for something I hoped to be really good, as the trailer looked great.

The film luckily ended up being pretty damn awesome, with a great mix of comedy, action, and sweet moments, though I did have an issue with the bad guy. His motivation made sense to a point, but his reasoning for some of his actions and his general behaviour just felt way over the top and it always felt like there were a half dozen other options and roads he could have taken to get the same result. Though let’s be fair, the rest of the movie was awesome, so made up for this issue!

8.5 out of 10 from me!!!
