Cinderella

Cinderella, Film, Movie, Review, The Flawed GuruI’m a big fan of animated films, though there are ones made that don’t exactly scream out as being one a guy should see, especially some of the classics. One of those classics I’ve never seen, and still don’t see the need to see, is Disney’s Cinderella. The story itself is well known, and there have been at least a dozen films out over the years that tell the story with their own unique twist, so I’m fully aware of what it entails, which may also not give me a reason to see it.

Though with a live action version of the film currently out, I decided to check it out, as I had actually heard some good things about it. So with my girlfriend by my side, we bought our tickets, and hoped to see something that would at least be fun and heart warming. And, well, it was. In fact I actually really liked the film. It had good characters, though some of their decisions and ideas on life can be excused by both the fairytale and historical settings, and the sets, costume, and general look and feel of the film was spot on.

Sure it’s still a fairytale for girls, and little girls at that, but it really did have enough meat on the bones to keep both guys, and older audiences, interested till the end. Also being a big fan of Game Of Thrones, it was cool seeing the lead male, and one supporting character, being from that series, though the one bad thing about the film also involved those two actors. That being their pants. Sure it’s set in a time period where men wore tights, but every scene in which they were wearing them, just made my attention lean more towards laughing then engaging in the story.

8.5 out of 10 from me!!!
