Entourage

Entourage, TV, Review, The Flawed GuruEntourage is a show that I’ve known about since its first season but just never got around to seeing. I don’t watch much TV, so when I do, I always make sure it’s something that’s ‘top notch’.

Entourage is currently in its 6th season over in the States and I had the opportunity to get my hands on the first 4 seasons of the show. I have to say I don’t often fall in love with a TV show as quickly as I did with this one after only seeing a few episodes.

Entourage is a ‘dramedy’ made by the brilliant HBO who has also brought us great shows such as Flight of the Conchords, Sex and the City, Sopranos, and the absolutely perfect Band of Brothers. The show is created by Doug Ellin and follows the rise of Vincent Chase, a hip young movie star, and his friends from his home town New York as they try to make it as a team in the film industry in the crazy world of Hollywood.

Mark Wahlberg acts as an executive producer on the show and it’s meant to be loosely based on his experience as an up and coming movie star, as well as on other well known stories that have happened within the industry. This level of truth in the episodes really does bring the show to a whole other level.

Being a film maker myself I can’t help but get excited by this show and to think of the possibilities if I were to attain a similar type of success. That aside though, this show is great in its own right and I think even people who don’t know much about the film industry will still fall in love with the characters and really root for them to succeed in their careers.

9.5 out of 10 from me!!!
