I’ve seen a lot of stand up comedy routines over the years and also a lot of comedy movies, but I had never seen anything that was a mash up of the two. So, when I had the chance to check out one of Katt Williams DVD’s and saw that it wasn’t exactly just a stand up comedy or a comedy narrative movie either, I was intrigued. I loved his Pimp Chronicles PT 1 and seeing as this was put across as the sequel to that, I was excited to see if he could step it up.
The first 30 minutes of the film was a mix of a narrative story as Katt and his friends drove around the country, with his three companions giving us a taste of their different stand up routines at different cities. As the movie progressed, it all built up to what was going to be a big show in Chicago and once they made it there, that’s when Katt’s routine started and he was on fire.
With a great voice, style of delivery and biting wit, showing the skills of someone who is very comfortable on the stage, he had the crowd eating out of his hand. With the film ending with a return to the narrative story, this made for not only a great comedy routine but also a very different kind of comedy movie.
8.5 out of 10 from me!!!
