Project A

Project A, Film, Movie, Review, The Flawed GuruJackie Chan is an international film star who most westerners only know from his Hollywood hits like the Rush Hour and Shanghai series. But the truth of the matter is that he has been an Asian film star since the late 70’s and had been at the top of his game years before he made it big in the western markets.

Project A was his 1983 star vehicle, which also starred his childhood classmates from his Peking Opera school, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao. In its time it was groundbreaking with it being the first time his official stunt team was used and his visually scrapping style of Kung Fu was brought into a semi modern setting for a Hong Kong film. Before that point Kung Fu films were set well in the past and had very standard Kung Fu fighting represented.

This was a blockbuster in its time in the Asian markets and helped turn Jackie from a super star into a mega star! This film also has a few of his all time iconic stunts and sequences, such as his clock tower fall and the bike chase sequence, and even watching it with our modern eyes you can see the amazing skill Jackie Chan had and why these types of stunts and sequences made him the huge star that he is.

8.5 out of 10 from me!!!
