Testees, TV, Review, The Flawed GuruI’ve stated before that being a film and TV reviewer I get to see films and programmes that normally I would never have had the chance to see. So when I was offered the chance to review a Canadian comedy show from 2008 I thought ‘why not’.

It was a one season only show so was never likely to come onto TV in New Zealand, unless maybe late at night, and often one season shows are lost forever as there just isn’t a market for them. But that’s the magic of DVD.

The series was created by Kenneth “Kenny” Hotz who is a Canadian writer, director, actor, producer and photographer and he also has a cameo role in the show. He is a former South Park consultant, creator/co-star of the Canadian television show Kenny vs. Spenny and looks to be generally a Canadian stalwart in their comedy industry.

Doing a bit of research into him you can see he has an interesting outlook on life as his style of humour is rather quirky, and Testees is no exception with some very zany story lines, with often familiar takes on old sitcom gags and the twist of course is the characters being test subjects. Add to that some great comedy acting from the two leads and the supporting cast and I’m surprised this was canceled after only one season.

8 out of 10 from me!!!
